
French-Canadian mezzo-soprano Rébecca Veilleux, from Québec City, Canada, has recently distinguished herself as a soloist alongside Les Violons du Roy and the Pentaèdre Quintet under the direction of Mathieu Lussier. A finalist at the Accademia per Cantanti Lirici of the Fondazione Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, she also took part in a residency with the Atelier lyrique de Montréal.
In the 2024–2025 season, Ms. Veilleux performs the role of Dorabella in Così fan tutte at Théâtre Le Diamant, a portrayal praised by Revue L’Opéra for “a voice and stage presence that will take her far.” Recent engagements include Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia with Nuova Vocal Arts in Alberta, Sesto in Giulio Cesare with the Saluzzo Opera Academy in Italy, and Miss Todd in The Old Maid and the Thief at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec.
Ms. Veilleux is the recipient of numerous prestigious grants, including awards from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, the Membres de la Légion d’honneur du Québec, Nuova Vocal Arts, Vladimir Piontkovsky, Jacqueline Martel-Cistellini, Hélène Couture, and the Fondation du Conservatoire de musique du Québec.
